Sat 27 Mar 2010 - Sun 28 Mar 2010
The perfect opportunity to shake off the winter blues a weekend dedicated to celebrating the start of the British Summer.
Saturday 27th/Sunday 28th of March will bring a great opportunity to start the Easter Holidays at Conkers featuring:
The visiting Fun Fair
The Dream Ponies Childrens Rides
Your Community Emergency Services demonstrations
The National Brewery Centre shire horses
And some great new features for 2010.
You may notice a big difference outside! Over the freezing winter months, workmen have been clearing trees on the far side of the lake. Now, if you’re feeling energetic and climb to the top of the Watch Tower, you will be met with a fantastic view of the lake and Discovery Centre beyond.
We will also be opening the new Bare Foot Walk for the very first time!!
The Tree of Life Hall will be hosting a variety of stalls and information points all about local services. In the Rawdon Room our friends from the Miners Welfare Society will be displaying their collection of artefacts and sharing memories of when the Conkers site was a working mine.
Misty our resident Barn Owl will be making personal appearances over the weekend with her keeper, Head Ranger Gerry O’Brien and come and see the new Shire Horses from the National Brewery Centre, opening in May.
Over the weekend the exhibition in the National Forest Art Gallery features the East Midlands Monochrome Society – a photographic club that specialises exclusively in black and white imagery, to breathtaking effect.
Come and join us for a weekend celebrating what we have to enjoy both at Conkers and locally, in the surrounding areas.
