O.W.L Group
As a ranger at Conkers we feel that Environmental Education is of the utmost importance, we believe that everybody should have the opportunity to get hands on with nature and be enthused by it. We would like to extend an invitation to anybody with an interest in the natural world to join our wildlife enthusiasts group for our monthly meetings at Conkers, where we have many wildlife themed events and talks planned. Our activities will be suitable for all ages and will be fun based whilst also increasing wildlife knowledge. We are calling the group O.W.L group in honour of our resident Barn Owl, Misty and also an acronym for Observing Wildlife Locally.
The first date scheduled is 6pm on Tuesday 10th June at Conkers Discovery, we will spend some time pond dipping around our willow swamp to discover freshwater mini-beasts and then bring out Misty for a talk on Owls (so bring along your camera if you would like a picture with her)
If you are interested in attending please call and leave your name at Discovery Reception on 01283 216633
For a small donation hot drinks will be available on the night
