Winter Wonderland at CONKERS

Billy Bonkers visits Rudolph

As the nights are rapidly drawing in, Billy Bonkers decided to pay a visit to Rudolph and his friends recently, to deliver a personal gift of some freshly dug carrots – which as we all know are essential for good night time vision!

Rudolph and the other reindeer will be bringing Father Christmas to his log cabin grotto once again this year, for the annual Winter Wonderland event at Conkers.

Visitors can enjoy the festive atmosphere by firstly enjoying the Fun Fair, at the Discovery Centre which is also where they can then board the Christmas Conkachoo train, taking a snowy journey towards Father Christmas. This year, whilst waiting to enter the grotto, the Pantomime will entertain all ages with the traditional story of ‘A Christmas Carol’ performed at the Waterside Amphitheatre throughout the day. Mulled wine, mince pies and roasted chestnuts will all be available to keep the icicles at bay, but wrap up warmly for the short wait – although there’s no shortage of hot chocolate if you prefer!

This year, the lighting display has been extended, offering visitors a feast for the eyes – particularly when the evening draws in. Therefore, the opening hours are being extended into the evening, offering visitors a chance to enjoy the Christmas shop and lights at Waterside until 9.00 p.m.

So, just as Billy Bonkers has ensured Rudolph and his colleagues will be well prepared for all the night time flying, visitors are also reminded to have an extra portion of carrots to ensure nothing is missed, when admiring Conkers Winter Wonderland this year!  Find out more about visiting our Winter Wonderland experience please visit our seasonal events page.
